Earlier today, Gary came across an article about an escaped alligator pet in Portland and mentioned it out loud to the team. Jack overheard this and responded, “I’m the one who found it.” He then pointed us to this article in a local newspaper blog about the event.
Jakob Nielsen shares some insights into the how long you have to capture your audience’s attention.
“The probability of leaving is very high during these first few seconds because users are extremely skeptical, having suffered countless poorly designed Web pages in the past. People know that most Web pages are useless, and they behave accordingly to avoid wasting more time than absolutely necessary on bad pages.”
