New European Union business regulations are rolling out on May 25th of this year โ the General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR. These new regulations bring existing legislation related to online data storage and consumer privacy up to date with current online practices. Companies who operate in the EU or handle European customer data, regardless of what country they're based in, will need to follow these new regulations to avoid hefty fines.
