When we launched Planet Argon LIVE, our goal was to create a space on LinkedIn where our team could share real lessons from real projects. We didn’t want abstract ideas—we wanted talks that spark ideas you can actually take back to your own team the next day. Each session is built around what we care most about most- helping teams sustain and evolve the software that already powers their business.
This quarter, three of our team members, Michael Kurt, Ben Parisot, and Sergiu Truta, kicked off the series. Each session had the same theme at its heart: making life easier for the people who build and maintain software.
Michael Kurt — Cut Through the Clutter: Practical App Monitoring with AppSignal
Michael opened the series with a clear-eyed look at application monitoring. His point was simple: too much monitoring data can feel like noise, and the real challenge is knowing what actually matters. He walked us through AppSignal’s built-in dashboards, anomaly detection, and custom alerts, showing how they can cut through clutter and highlight the metrics worth paying attention to. A case study of a client’s email outage problem drove the point home: with the right monitoring setup, you can catch issues before customers notice. Michael’s talk left us with a reminder—monitoring should reduce stress, not add to it.

Ben Parisot — 5 Git Automation Strategies for Happier Development Teams
Ben tackled the everyday friction points developers face: vague PRs, noisy notifications, slow builds, and stale branches. His talk was a tour of quick wins: templates, CI/CD integrations, AI-powered code reviews, and branch cleanup that free up developers to focus on meaningful work. Ben emphasized that automation isn’t about replacing people, it’s about giving them the mental space to solve real problems. The ROI meant less time lost to manual cleanup and more energy for building better software. For teams juggling constant change, Ben’s strategies showed how small tweaks can add up to big improvements in both productivity and morale.

Sergiu Truta — Hosting Migration: Step-by-Step Without the Stress
Sergiu closed the quarter with a roadmap for one of the more intimidating jobs in software: migrating an app to a new host. His step-by-step method—from setting maintenance mode, to database transfers, to DNS updates—showed how to reduce risk and keep surprises to a minimum. He also stressed the importance of preparation: testing thoroughly before switching traffic and planning a clear fallback if needed. What stood out was Sergiu’s calm, methodical approach: migrations don’t have to be dramatic. In fact, the best migrations are the ones nobody notices.

Looking Ahead
Our first quarter of Planet Argon LIVE confirmed what we’d hoped: short, practical talks can make a difference.
We’ll keep sharing stories from our team—lessons that help organizations sustain, modernize, and future-proof seasoned apps. Because at the heart of every talk, every project, and every refactor is our core belief: good software deserves a second act.
Here’s to what’s next. 🥂
